‘The MP 1 pump moves from Fresno, California to the Netherlands,’ says Kim Jensen, Chief Marketing Officer and Group Head Water Utility at Grundfos. ‘Grundfos will discontinue the MP 1 submersible pump in their portfolio – but you will be glad to hear that the pump won’t vanish from the market!’
‘We are pleased to inform that our distribution and sales partner Royal Eijkelkamp, based in the Netherlands, are taking over the production facilities for the MP 1 pump and continuing the production and sales.’
‘Royal Eijkelkamp has been a trusted partner of ours for a number of years now. For the past five, they have also been the sole worldwide distributor of the MP 1. So, if anyone knows how to utilise the potential of the MP 1, it will be Royal Eijkelkamp. They already offer solutions worldwide geared to customers’ needs in soil and water research, development, and production.’
‘The handover is expected to take place in July 2021, from which point Royal Eijkelkamp will be given control of the dedicated machinery at our production facilities in Fresno, California. The machinery will subsequently be set up at Royal Eijkelkamp’s facilities in the Netherlands. From then on, Royal Eijkelkamp will also have the rights to the MP 1 name.’
‘We hope that this agreement with Royal Eijkelkamp will lead to success for the MP 1 pump in the future, as it was once intended by our former CEO and son of the founder Niels Due Jensen.’
Rutger van Goethem, Sales Director at Royal Eijkelkamp, had this to say: ‘We have been working hard behind the scenes to take stock of the whole technical supply chain. We want to make sure we are up and running with new production as soon as possible, so that we can decrease our backlog and deliver from stock later in the year. Once we have initiated the entire production, we will continue working on improvements. That way, we can provide the best possible solutions for our customers’ needs.’
