The final of the ITU World Triathlon Series will take place in Rotterdam from 14 - 17 September 2017. During the ITU World Triathlon Series, the fastest triathletes in the world travel to iconic cities to compete with each other. After nine competitions, the overall winner is ultimately crowned world champion. Prior to and during the Grand Final, the organiser of this largest world event will use the Eijkelkamp Measuring Buoy to keep participants informed of the swimming water's quality. This is a first.
Open-water swimming events, such as the triathlon, are becoming increasingly popular. It goes without saying that high quality water is of vital importance to prevent health problems among participants. For the first time in its history, the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final is using Eijkelkamp Soil & Water equipment to provide up-to-date information to participants.
The Eijkelkamp Measuring Buoy is located in the Rijnhaven [Rhine Port] in Rotterdam. Visit the Official ITU World Triathlon Website to view the current Rijnhaven data.
The organisers of open-water swimming events are increasingly deploying the Eijkelkamp Measuring Buoy. For example, the Measuring Buoy was deployed on various occasions by the cities of Zutphen and Woerden, in the Netherlands.
If you would like to know more about the Eijkelkamp Measuring Buoy, or if you are interested in deploying the Measuring Buoy for an open-water trip or competition, contact at Eijkelkamp Soil & Water.
